The eighth grade Ag class visited Tim Cases greenhouse where they learned about growing hydroponic tomatoes. They also learned about the greenhouse and how constant temperature is maintained. They learned about pest control within the greenhouse and how beneficial bugs were currently being utilized. Mr. Case also talked to us about an up coming cotton trial that he is conducting.
The Small Animal Management class went to Panhandle to the Carson County Vet Clinic last week. We got to see how a vet clinic works, we looked at parasites in jars, and saw an ultrasound on a fruit cup. We looked at x-rays of small animals and got to see safety pins, push pins, bladder stones, and baby cats. We also were able to count how many fetal kittens a cat had. We also observed a fetal calf in a jar, and an African Barbed Turtle named Kony. |
