FFA Officers selected
On Tuesday, October 20, Ag students gathered in the FFA meeting hall to decide who would be the first officers for the new chapter. It has been over ...years since Groom School has maintained an FFA program for interested students.
“My Grandfather was the American Farmer award winner, so he was my inspiration when it comes to joining FFA.” Eighth grader, Katelyn Burger said.
Students gathered for a breakfast of doughnuts and orange juice, all for the purpose of voting in FFA Officials. Many students ran for office, but only a select few made the cut.
Groom’s FFA president, Mason Miller, shared his plans for the future of the program soon after being voted into office.
“The FFA program was extraordinary back in the day, and I intend on working with my fellow officers to make this new chapter even better.”
The elected officials consisted of students in high school and junior high. Halle Barkley was voted in as the Vice President, Secretary was handed to Katelyn Burger, the Treasurer position was awarded to Gina Miller, the Reporter was voted Chelsey Lamb, and the Sentinel title was given to Corbin Ruthardt.
