Groom FFA students have been participating in CDE's, or Career Development Events, in order to earn the FFA degree they are currently striving towards.
FFA degrees are helpful for applying to colleges and they each have a set of requirements that have to be met in order to earn the degree at hand. The possible degrees that can be earned are the Discovery degree, Greenhand degree, Chapter Farmer degree, Lonestar Farmer degree and American Farmer degree.
A student can only obtain one degree a year, and the Discovery degree is only offered to seventh and eighth graders, while the other degrees are strictly high school. Many of the Ag students this year are working towards their Greenhand or Discovery degree.
